Every article published on sonderanalyse.de is the result of careful human oversight, regardless of any digital tools that may assist in research or drafting. How do we select and verify our sources?
We rely on primary sources, official documents, named interviewees and verified data from public institutions wherever possible. Anonymous sources are used only when a story is in the public interest and the source’s safety or livelihood would otherwise be at risk, and their use is approved by a senior editor.
Our fact‑checking team, led by Anna Engels (Fact‑Checking Policy), cross‑references every factual claim against at least two independent sources. We prefer original government reports, parliamentary records, court filings and statistics from agencies such as Statistiska centralbyrån. When we cite think‑tanks, academic papers or media reports, we identify the author and any potential bias. All sources are listed in the article or made available on request.
Who is responsible for our editorial decisions?
Chefredaktör Matthias Richter has final authority over all editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections. He is supported by Redaktionschef Julia Schmid, who oversees the daily newsroom and headline review.
Named editors are accountable for each section. Christian Jung (Politikredaktör) approves political coverage; Christina Schuster (Wirtschaftreporter) reviews economic stories; Oliver Sommer (Kultur- och samhällsredaktör) handles culture and society pieces. What you can expect from us
We publish clear, practical coverage of Swedish news, politics, economics, culture and society without spin or oversimplification. Sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled, affiliate links are disclosed and commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions.
We correct errors promptly and transparently. A correction notice appears at the foot of the revised article, and significant corrections are logged in our Corrections Policy. If you see something you believe is inaccurate, please contact our fact‑check team at factcheck@sonderanalyse.de. We also maintain a formal Complaints Procedure for more involved concerns.
How is our journalism funded and what safeguards exist?
Sonderanalyse is owned by Sonderanalys Media Ltd., registered in Gibraltar. Our revenue comes from display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. Editorial independence is non‑negotiable. No advertiser or sponsor can influence what we publish or how we frame a story. All sponsored or promotional content is marked “Sponsored” or “Partner Content” in a prominent position at the top of the piece. Our Sponsored Content Policy sets out the strict separation between editorial and commercial teams.
What role does AI play in our work?
Digital tools may assist with research, editing, formatting, translation, metadata, headline options, summaries and transcription. However, AI never replaces human editorial judgement. Every piece is approved by a human editor, and AI must never fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines, author experience or expert profiles.
Our AI & Automation Policy explains exactly how we use these tools and the safeguards in place. If an article has been partially researched with the help of AI, that is noted in the editorial metadata stored with the piece, but readers will always see a human‑written, human‑reviewed text.
How can you challenge our reporting?
If you believe we have made an error, used a questionable source or omitted important context, you can raise it directly with the desk that handled the story. Start by emailing factcheck@sonderanalyse.de or the relevant editor. We will investigate and respond within three working days.
For complaints that require a formal review, follow our Complaints Procedure. If the complaint is about editorial standards, it will be escalated to Chefredaktör Matthias Richter, who will issue a final decision and, if needed, a correction or clarification. We treat all challenges seriously and will explain our reasoning in writing.
