How is editorial content created at Sonderanalyse?

Every article published by Sonderanalyse (sonderanalyse.de) begins with a human editorial decision. From assignment through final approval, each piece of journalism follows a structured process that separates news, analysis, opinion, and sponsored content clearly at every stage. No published material bypasses a named editor or a dedicated fact-checking review.

The editorial process is standardised across all content types. A writer receives an assignment or pitches a story. Once drafted, the piece moves to a section editor who reviews structure, fairness and sourcing. The article then passes to the fact-checking desk, led by Anna Engels (Ansvarig för faktagranskning, emma.sandberg@sonderanalyse.de), who verifies claims, quotes, figures and sources against original documents or reliable records. Only after this two-stage review does the Chefredaktör, Matthias Richter (anders.lindqvist@sonderanalyse.de), give final approval for publication. This chain applies to every article, including those supported by AI-assisted research tools. Automated tools may help with translation, transcription or metadata, but they never replace the human reviewer and never generate quotes, sources or bylines.

What is the difference between news, opinion and sponsored content on this site?

Sonderanalyse labels each piece clearly so readers can distinguish straight news reporting from editorial analysis and from commercially funded material. News articles report facts, events and statements without commentary. Opinion pieces carry a byline and are clearly marked as commentary or analysis in the headline and metadata. Sponsored content and commercial partnerships are labelled with a prominent “Sponsored” or “Commercial” notice at the top of the page and in the article footer.

Affiliate links, which may earn the publication a commission when readers make purchases, are disclosed in a standard notice at the bottom of every article that contains them. The notice reads: “This article contains affiliate links. Sonderanalyse may earn a small commission if you click or buy through these links. Editorial conclusions are never influenced by commercial relationships.” No sponsored or affiliate content overrides editorial judgement; the commercial team and the editorial team are separate, and the advertising and partnerships manager reports directly to the publisher without any role in news decisions.

Who is responsible for what we publish?

The ultimate responsibility for every article lies with the Chefredaktör, Matthias Richter. He is named on the Our Team page and is contactable directly at anders.lindqvist@sonderanalyse.de. He is responsible for publication decisions, corrections, editorial standards and the integrity of the entire editorial process. The day-to-day newsroom is run by Redaktionschef Julia Schmid (karin.bergstrom@sonderanalyse.de), who reviews all headlines and commissioning decisions. Each section has a named redaktör: Christian Jung (Politikredaktör, johan.eriksson@sonderanalyse.de) covers national politics and local government; Christina Schuster (Wirtschaftreporter, sofia.nystrom@sonderanalyse.de) covers economy and markets; Oliver Sommer (Kultur- och samhällsredaktör, erik.holmberg@sonderanalyse.de) covers culture, lifestyle and society; Anna Engels (Ansvarig för faktagranskning, emma.sandberg@sonderanalyse.de) leads verification and corrections. Every writer is named on every article with a direct contact email.

How do we handle mistakes?

Corrections are handled through a formal procedure managed by Anna Engels. When an error is identified—by a reader, by the fact-checking team, or by an editor—a correction notice is appended to the original article with a clear explanation of what was wrong, what was corrected and when. The original version is never deleted; a note at the top of the article states “This article has been corrected” with a link to the corrections policy and a timestamp. Substantive corrections that affect the factual basis of a story are escalated to the Chefredaktör, who decides whether to publish a full retraction or a revised version. Complaints about editorial content can be sent directly to complaints@sonderanalyse.de or via the formal complaints procedure, which guarantees a reply within five working days and a clear explanation of the outcome.

What you can expect from us

Readers can expect every article to carry a named writer, a named section editor and a fact-checker credit. The editorial process is transparent: each article includes a note at the bottom stating “Edited by [editor name], fact-checked by [fact-checker name]”. This applies to all content, including sponsored pieces, which carry the same editorial review but with an additional “Sponsored” label. The site does not use anonymous sources unless a specific exemption is granted by the Chefredaktör and the source is verified through a separate internal process. AI-assisted tools are disclosed on the AI and automation policy page, which makes explicit that no tool ever creates quotes, bylines or expert profiles. The funding model is transparent: the ownership and funding page lists Sonderanalys Media Ltd., registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), and details the revenue streams—display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. All commercial relationships are disclosed on the advertising and affiliate disclosure page.

Questions or concerns?

If you have a question about editorial process, a correction to suggest or a complaint about any published content, the quickest route is to email info@sonderanalyse.de with “Editorial” in the subject line. That address is monitored by the editorial desk and will forward to the relevant section editor. For formal complaints or legal concerns, use complaints@sonderanalyse.de or legal@sonderanalyse.de. The general contact page at contact lists all function email addresses, including press, advertising and partnerships. Every enquiry receives a reply within three working days, and any complaint about editorial content is acknowledged and handled according to the formal policy linked above.
