How can I submit a complaint?

You can send a written complaint to complaints@sonderanalyse.de. Please include the article title, the URL or publication date, a clear description of your concern, and any supporting evidence. We also accept complaints via post to our registered office in Malta, but email is the fastest route.

If you prefer not to use email, you may call our Swedish editorial line on +49 30 577 013 49. A member of the newsroom will take your details and forward them to the relevant desk. We ask that you provide your name and contact information so we can respond; anonymous complaints are considered but may take longer to investigate.

Who handles my complaint?

Your complaint is first reviewed by Anna Engels, our Ansvarig för faktagranskning (fact‑checking lead), at emma.sandberg@sonderanalyse.de. She assesses whether the issue relates to a factual error, a breach of editorial standards, or another concern. If the complaint falls outside her remit, she forwards it to the appropriate editor.

For complaints about editorial judgement or publication decisions, Matthias Richter, Chefredaktör, becomes the final decision‑maker. He can be reached at anders.lindqvist@sonderanalyse.de or by phone on +46 8 525 030 61. No complaint is closed without his sign‑off if it involves a material correction or a significant change to published content.

What happens after I submit?

We acknowledge receipt within two working days. Our team reviews the complaint against our editorial policy and corrections policy. If a factual error is confirmed, we correct the article, append a correction notice, and notify you by email. If the complaint is about a matter of interpretation or balance, we explain our editorial reasoning.

We aim to resolve all complaints within ten working days. Complex cases – for instance, those involving multiple sources or legal considerations – may take up to 30 days. You will receive a written explanation of the outcome, including the steps taken.

What you can expect from us

We treat every complaint seriously and impartially. Sonderanalys Media Ltd. has no commercial or political influence over complaint handling. Our process is documented and audited internally twice a year. No staff member involved in a complaint has a personal stake in the content under review.

We publish a summary of upheld complaints and corrections quarterly on our corrections policy page. This transparency is part of our commitment to trustworthy Swedish journalism, as stated in our editorial mission. If you are unhappy with the outcome, you have the right to escalate.

How are complaints escalated?

If you are not satisfied with the initial response, you can ask Matthias Richter to review the case. Email him directly at anders.lindqvist@sonderanalyse.de with “Complaint escalation – [article title]” in the subject line. He will examine the original complaint, the response, and any new evidence. His decision is final within the organisation.

For complaints that involve a potential breach of data protection or privacy, you may also contact our legal team at legal@sonderanalyse.de. If the matter cannot be resolved internally, we will provide guidance on how to approach the relevant regulatory body. We do not charge any fee for handling complaints.

How do we ensure fairness?

All complaints are logged in a confidential register accessible only to Anna Engels, Matthias Richter, and the legal team. We do not share your personal data with third parties except where required by law. For more detail on how we handle your information, see our privacy policy. Editorial staff are not permitted to discuss complaints with anyone outside the designated team.

We also welcome complaints about our advertising and sponsored content. Those are reviewed by our partnerships desk at partnerships@sonderanalyse.de, with full recourse to the same escalation process. No member of the commercial team participates in editorial complaint decisions.

Questions or concerns?

For general questions about how we operate, our contact page lists all function emails, including info@sonderanalyse.de. If you want to understand our editorial standards in depth, please read the full editorial policy. For corrections specifically, the corrections policy explains how we update articles and issue retractions. Your trust matters to us, and we are committed to clear, responsive handling of every complaint.
