Berichtigungspolitik

Sonderanalyse is committed to correcting errors promptly, transparently, and thoroughly. If you believe we have published something inaccurate, please contact our standards desk directly at corrections@sonderanalyse.de and we will investigate and respond.

Who is responsible for handling corrections?

Anna Engels, our Ansvarig för faktagranskning (head of fact-checking), manages all correction requests and error investigations at Sonderanalyse. She leads the fact-checking team that verifies sources, reviews disputed claims, and determines what corrective action is needed. You can reach her directly at emma.sandberg@sonderanalyse.de or the central corrections address.

How do we handle mistakes?

When we identify or are notified of a material error — a factual mistake that could mislead a reader — we update the article and add a visible correction note at the top or bottom of the piece. This note explains what was wrong, what has been changed, and the date of the correction. Minor errors, such as typographical issues or formatting glitches, may be corrected without a note, but we record all changes internally.

Each correction is reviewed by Anna Engels and, if the error relates to editorial judgement or raises broader questions, escalated to Chefredaktör Matthias Richter (anders.lindqvist@sonderanalyse.de, +46 8 525 030 61). The editor-in-chief has final authority on publication decisions and any associated public acknowledgement of the mistake.

How quickly will you respond to my correction request?

Our standards desk aims to acknowledge receipt of a correction request within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. The investigation and resolution typically take one to three business days, depending on complexity. If the matter is urgent or involves a high-impact error, we prioritise it and may issue a preliminary response within hours. You will always receive a direct reply from Anna Engels or a member of her team.

What you can expect from us

Sonderanalyse treats corrections as a fundamental part of trustworthy journalism. We do not defend errors; we fix them. Our editorial mission — stated on our About Us page — is to help readers understand complex issues without spin or oversimplification, and that requires being honest when we get something wrong. Every correction is logged, and our team reviews patterns of error to prevent recurrence.

We also maintain a fact-checking policy that outlines how we verify information before publication, and an editorial policy that governs our standards for sourcing, attribution, and fairness. For complaints about broader editorial conduct, see our complaints procedure.

How to report an error

Send the details — including the article URL, a clear description of the error, and any supporting sources — to corrections@sonderanalyse.de. You can also copy Anna Engels directly at emma.sandberg@sonderanalyse.de. Please include your name and contact information if you would like a follow-up, though you may submit requests anonymously if you prefer.

Alternatively, you can use our general contact address info@sonderanalyse.de and mark your message ‚Correction request‘, or reach us through the contact form on our Contact page.

What about non-material issues or style preferences?

We distinguish between material errors (factual inaccuracies that change the meaning of a story) and non-material issues such as subjective phrasing, minor stylistic differences, or opinions you disagree with. Non-material concerns are better addressed via our general feedback channels or complaints procedure. If you are unsure, submit it to corrections and Anna Engels will determine the appropriate path.

Questions or concerns?

If you have questions about how we handle corrections, want to check the status of a request, or need to escalate a matter that has not been resolved to your satisfaction, please contact Chefredaktör Matthias Richter at anders.lindqvist@sonderanalyse.de or +46 8 525 030 61. You can also refer to our ownership and funding page for transparency about who we are, or read our Our Story for more on our founding principles. Sonderanalyse is registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry) and operates under strict editorial independence.
