Sonderanalyse respects the intellectual property rights of content creators and expects its users to do the same. This Copyright & Takedown Policy explains how we handle copyright claims, image rights and removal requests. All such requests must be sent to copyright@sonderanalyse.de and will be processed in accordance with applicable law and our internal procedures.
What rights do we hold over our content?
All editorial material published on Sonderanalyse – including text, photographs, graphics, videos and audio – is protected by copyright and related rights. Unless otherwise stated, Sonderanalys Media Ltd., a Gibraltar-registered company (number C 92009), is the owner or licensee of that content. Unauthorised reproduction, distribution or commercial use is prohibited. Our Terms of Use set out what readers may and may not do with our content.
How can you request a takedown?
If you believe that content on Sonderanalyse infringes your copyright or other intellectual property right, please send a written takedown request to copyright@sonderanalyse.de. Your request must include: your full name and contact details; a clear identification of the work you claim is infringed; the exact URL or description of the allegedly infringing material; a statement that you have a good‑faith belief the use is not authorised; and a declaration, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights‑holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We will acknowledge receipt within five business days.
What about image rights?
Photographs and other visual content published on Sonderanalyse are either licensed from stock agencies, supplied by contributors under agreement, or created by our own staff. All images are used with permission or under a lawful exemption. If you appear in an image on our site and believe your right to privacy or personality has been violated, you may submit a takedown request to the same email address. We will review your claim against our editorial policy and applicable data protection law. Where appropriate, we will remove or blur the image.
What you can expect from us
Sonderanalyse takes copyright and takedown claims seriously. Our fact‑checking team, led by our Head of Fact‑Checking Anna Engels, reviews each request carefully. We will not remove content simply because a complainant disagrees with its message or dislikes a mention. However, where a valid legal right is established, we act promptly. All takedown decisions are documented and can be appealed by contacting the same copyright email address. Our full Editorial Policy explains the standards we apply to accuracy, fairness and legality.
What if you receive a counter‑notice?
If material is removed in response to a takedown notice, the party who originally posted or provided the content may submit a counter‑notice explaining why the removal was mistaken. Counter‑notices must include similar identifying details and a statement of consent to jurisdiction. We will forward valid counter‑notices to the original complainant and, if no legal action is initiated within 14 business days, we may reinstate the content. This process is governed by our Terms of Use.
